Engine pull

Well guys Im pulling the engine out of the dime. I know its early but I'd figure that I took ins off of it to save some money, plus Im getting ideas to get another engine built. I WANT MORE!!
Im thinkin of a 406 but with my budget and possible layoff, Im holding off. My 355 has been real good to me. I was going to just install 1.6's on it for more lift. Then thought of slipping in a bigger solid flat tappet. Might as well install a higher stall with it, maybe a 4-4500. Dunno. My crank is cast steel, thought of adding a forged unit. Im having fits of making it a 383 or 385 cid. See what I mean???? Too much shit going through my head. I want the truck to run high 6's on motor alone....ideas???

If you need a new crank, more cubes is good, bigger cam, stall, heads, etc. Sell the 355 and buy the 406 stuff...

I'd like to drive this on the street too. Thats why I do not want to get carried away, hence I only drive it 20 miles a month on the street if that. all in town driving. under 40 mph unless I pull next to a mustang, then its 45 pmh lol. I want pump gas or mix it. I'd like to spray about a 150 shot and make it live. Whats a good 350 combo with a solid flat tappet??

I just might, with funds the way they are I can pick up 1.6 rockers cheap along with a solid flat tappet. Hey I have a very nasty solid roller for sale or maybe Ill trade it for a solid flat tappet. Iknow atleast a cam, conv and rockers will be changed. thats maybe a 500.00 investment If I can find the parts right. thanks dand355---we need to have a drink together sometime that way we can puke at the same time, Ill hold your hair back buddy!!!

I saw you are trying to trade a hyd. roller for a solid flat tappet. You didn't give specs on the roller you have. If it is close to what your looking for in a flat tappet, the hyd roller will make more power, with less maintenence.

the hyd roller is a regrind of .530 lift on both sides with 290 of adv duration on both sides. Its only a 2-6 range cam...
