Well... unless you all have a better suggestion... It's not really a decision... It's pretty much that I have no choice.
I went to work on my truck again today... I hadn't been at it for about 5-6 weeks. I can only go on the weekends and just before the first weekend of August my buddy asked me to help him get a car ready to run the big local race. We got my race engine and put it in his Malibu that he just bought back after 20 years and went racing.
Anyway... all that to say that I wasn't working on the truck for about 5-6 weeks dus to the race and tennis elbow as well.
Back to today... I get to when my truck is and open up the garage, turn the alarm off and start looking for the keys to the Blazer that is parked in front of the bay door. After trying every set of GM keys I could find... All I could do is manage to unlock the door. However, the key that unlocked the door was too big to fit the ignition. So I locked everything back up and drove back home. Not very happy.
So now I'm thinking... I'm at the mercy of other people to be able to get any work done to my truck AND to be able to store it. Right now, it's parked outside and I have no place to put it this winter. I live in an apt building with no garage. Can't afford a place with a garage.
So I'm thinking of giving it all up. My buddy with the Malibu tells me he wants my race engine and there is a guy that seems to want to buy my truck, even after me telling him it's not for sale... But after today... It just might be. Plus, I still don't have a trailer or even a place to put that either!
I just might take the money, fix up my C1500 and maybe buy a little beater to go to work in.
I practically feel sick to my stomach thinking about giving up drag racing. I'm turning 46 this Tuesday and really haven't been much able to race since 2004 after my mom passed away.
