im looking for a 10-point cage for my 03 std cab s10, ultimately id like to have a custom one built for the truck, but cost wise id be better off buying a pre-bent one and installing it myself.
anyone have any pics of pre-bent ones? im looking for ones that keep it real tight against the interior(street truck), and id like to keep my bench if at all possible

jegs has one listed as a jegster cage but it is the same as comp eng. http://www.jegs.com/i/Jegster/550/943904K/10002/-1?parentProductId=749658

Do they leave the ends long enough to go to the frame? Is it notched?

none of them will come pre notched but you dont need a notcher you can notch with just a die grinder with a cut off wheel

the cage will not be notched. You can get a notcher for about $50 off ebay or use a hand grinder and take your time. I have used both and recommend the notcher. cuts will fit tighter and you can sell it when done.

here is a link to a place where you can print out a template to cut out and trace and it will alow you to notch the tube with a grinder.

if i remember, when i notched mine i used a hole saw and my grinder, its been i a few years but i think thats what i did .
I know shipping is the big killer on the cages, when i bought my 8 point for my camaro it was a competition engineering. I had a local speed shop order it and it was like $80 cheaper than going through jegs .
Now on a side note, when i have looked at jegs for my s10 its in stock for a 10 point and truck freight is $119, if you go to Summit and look its not stocked and i believe its direct shipped and the shipping price says $15.00, Im not sure if this 100% accurate but i was gonna look into it more when the time comes .

I am in the process of installing one now. door bars and rear hoop braces come notched but most likely will need modified for better fit. Not very happy with this set up. main hoop fits directly over rear cab mounts almost centered and halo would have ended up over half way down on the 90 bends losing alot of headroom. I'm 6'1" so i had to rebend this also. So notching this is taking forever because of location angles. I'm pretty behind the times with computer tech so when i can get the kids to help i will upload some pics. Not very thought out to be a vehicle specific cage in my opinion. If you go this route good luck. Rob
