hey all... the time has come to potentially accept the fact that some things will just never get done around my way, and am in deep contemplation of selling my prized 406 project. A lot of things have happened in 2011 and money has been tight, I have been engaged for a year, I'm putting myself thru school currently and I feel like it may be time to pass the torch to someone who could really enjoy it to it's fullest. I KNOW it will make a great winter project for someone who's looking to wrench thru the snow (when and wherever) fall for their street, line, or road machine.

Mind you: This is a real nice motor. It has never been assembled. it has been stored for some time, no rust in the cylinders or cam bearing surfaces, not cracked or a boat anchor, or anything like that. Just a real nice freshly prepped, painted and machined block and rotating assembly that is ready to rock socks off. I had at one point a lot of things to get the thing moving (dist., plug wires, headers, etc) but I only have the things that people really care about- like the pistons, rods, cam, etc.

It's a sbc 406: 1972 era 2 bolt 400, punched out .030 over to SRP pistons in the rotationg assm., has been decked about .003 to square it up (nothing major), It has 3 Howards 1020 splayed billet main caps on 2, 3, and 4, and a fresh line hone. and w/o the need for oversized bearings! just a fel-pro #2909 rear main. have fresh NIB ARP studs for the heads and mains. Mains have a perch on the studs for a windage tray.

The rotating assm. is all brand new from Howards. It was considered to be a street strip rotating assembly, with an upgraded Howards forged crank NIB.

rings- Howards plasma moly rings, NIB,
rod/main bearings- Clevite 77s
*rod screws are upgraded ARP hi-ten. screws
rods- RPM 6" H-beam rods, balanced to rest of assm.
Crank- Howards Track smart; 3.750 strk. 400 main, 5.7" rod
pistons- SRP/JE 4.155", forged alum. used to make the bore in block, never used, installed on rods, 10.0:1, dished style, for streetability/ gas prices.
Cam- Howards solid roller custom grind cam, i will update specs on this later. its beautiful, lumpy profile, made for making big power. new in a storage tube.
Balancer- Prof. products 6" balancer for high RPM stability.

asking $2000 or best. have pics. no junk. 90% of stuff is new in box
