good chassis and under coating , rustoleum paint and mix naphtha with it , dries fast and is hard as a rock when dried, cheap and looks real good when dried even with a chip brush, (the naphtha accelerates the drying and helps the paint flow)

Excellent post Dan.
Remember naphtha is carcinogenic (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carcinogen), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naphtha
So take the necessary precautions!

i use regular oil base off the shevlf ...any color you want.. the ratio hmm.....well a little bit here a little bit there...don't want to thin the paint alot, wont cover you'll see the difference . try sample before you start .. the rustolem will stay soft for days without the naphta. it's not fancy but looks good and cheap, i've sprayed it also sweet. i'm not a painter nor a body man but a painted dry cleaning equipment with this and holds up. you cans always get something better, but for 15 $ of paint, naphta, .........
