Anybody here drive their truck on the street with a Transbrake? I'm planning a few things out and I'm trying to hit the lower (11.99 minimum) end of our super pro e.t. class and want to run a delay box at the track, but I'll be driving it to and from.....
Thanks!

I've done it and all its done was spin even with big hoosiers on. Find a. Heavily crack filled road with that tar crap and get a bottle of vht to test it

i think he means, how is it for a commute driving to the strip etc.

I dont have first hand with it, but the guys I talked to said alot of extra heat to deal with

never had a problem with a transbrake, if trans heat is a problem get a big tranny cooler

if your not using the transbrake it like a normal valve body, heat shouldnt be a real issue unless your using it

I agree with Jerry, if you're not using the trans brake on the street, it shouldn't be an issue, it will be just like any other manual valve body trans. I drove my 427 Vega to the track a couple of times (11.50 ETs, all motor, through the mufflers, on street tires, about an hour and 15 minutes both ways), the reason I quit and started trailering was that the floor got too hot, the first time, my cheap tennis shoes were starting to melt to the floor, (3.5" exhaust), :D :D :D

Chad... I'll just add to what others have said.

Make sure the button isn't somewhere you might accidently hit it in normal driving. Depending on the transbrake type... it might require you to engauge the t-brake to back up. That's an easy fix... just wire it through the reverse light switch with a diode. Then you don't have to hold the button in while backing up.

I wired my Transbrake through a master switch on the dash so I could kill the main power to the button. Nothing like accedentally hitting the button @ 30 mph.LOL

OR just put the button where you wont bump it. No problem with transbrake on the street.
