Holy crap my blazer is really good at amplifying sound! The huge space back there just acts as an echo chamber! What are you guys with 2'dr first gens doing for an exhaust system? I originally had some turn downs off the muffler just before the axle, but on my first time taking it out after the swap I don't think that I can deal with it every day. My hair was vibrating! The muffs I'm running are by no means small, 18"x6' case 3" I.D. I have an x-pipe and tried angling the turn downs in different positions.....it's still loud. I've started building tailpipes but they are just downright comical because I need to dodge the fuel cell and shock setup, picture an exaggerated S.

Here's some pics of my components:

Any ideas or pics would be much appreciated. :10: I gotta tame this thing down, the 5.0 in my city are not nice to deal with.

Cheers

Going to a chambered muffler will help bring the noise down.

yeah them magnaflows aint known for being in any way quiet... a dual chamber muffler would be a better way to go for noise suppression... nice set up tho...

Thanks guys. Come summer I'll borrow some friends muffs and try different ones. Idling in the garage is a lot different than cruising around.

Cheers!

I ended up fabing some tailpipes. With the fuel cell and braced 8.8 I have barely any room to route the 3" tubes. So if they look like snakes that's why haha.

And here's one of them with a bit of heat wrap. Again, since they run right beside my cell I wanted to ovoid heating the fuel.

I like to make a point of updating my threads so others can see what has worked/or hasn't worked. I search the forums from time to time looking for solutions and hate it when I find someone with the exact same issue.....but no conclusion.

Cheers,
