I found out that jegs and grant make a quick release hub that bolts directly to the factory column.

That's the one I have. The only problem I've seen is the transbrake cable can wrap up in it, and pull up on the release collar.

The Jegs one or the Grant one?
I'm in the market for one of these and a new steering wheel.

I have the Grant one.
Does anyone know of one that you can put a stock wheel on? The Kid has a 68 Camaro, and since we caged it, its really ignorant to get in and out.(especially if you're old and fat like me) He has a beautiful and origional "SS" steering wheel he'd like to keep on it. Any help would be appreciated. Sorry bout the thread-jack, but we're gettin desparate.

You know, Mark, thats what I told him, and he said "They're too much of a pain in the ass".Then he elaborated on open the door, unlatch the bar.... blah... and thats when I tuned him out. Alot of guys at the track use them. I think they're a good Idea. His car, he's on his own now, I tried. If the idea is for me never to drive or ride in it, it worked. Hardhead. I have no idea where he gets it. lol
