I was doing around 45 when it happened, luckily I kept control and there were no cars right around me. When I saw it come up I had a split second to put my head down, and I got showered with tiny glass needles. Thank God I was wearing a hat, because the top of it was covered with glass that would have been in my face and hair!
I had been working on the truck a little earlier, and a friend of mine was buffing the NEW, freshly painted hood for me. Well, I guess he had it open and then shut it but didn't push it down hard enough to latch it. The moral of the story is, don't trust others with your truck and ALWAYS HAVE A SAFETY LATCH! :rolleyes2:
No serious damage done, got the windshield replaced the next day and the hood fixed and resprayed the next week. Still need to replace the grille in the dash that got pummeled .
