its time to build the tranny.. i have a couple of questions as always (sorry just new to this and i want is much info as possible thxs)
circa 80's turbo 350
running a built 355 to it
whats a good shift pattern forward/reverse? should i go with manual valve body?
what mods can i have them build in for a serious street strip tranny?
how big a stall can i run (i think the bigger the better??)
i want a serious tranny so any help is greatly appreciated thanks..

You want to match your stall to your cam specs and rear gear ratio. And unless you want to shift for every single gear up and down I'd just throw a shift improver kit and a ratchet shifter and call it a day. Just get a good trans pack kit with heavy duty steels and clutches and you should be good. just my 2 cents.

its a th350. kollen steels. red alto race clutchs, new stock drum and planetsry. hardernd race and new sprag. the valev body has been milled and modified for a full manual shift foward pattern,NO transbrake, jw ultra bell. aluminum deep pan. loakr dipstick. this tranny has been 5.8s in 1/8th milke with a 1.29 60ft footbraking . lasted roughly 85 passes before the sprag broke. thats why i had it rebuilt about 2 months ago. right now im making a bit more power than it will handle reliably so im going with glide. but it is built for 400-600hp levels. well make a wesome street strip tranny or low buck brtaket tranny

Here is what has been done to mine and seems to work. Red clutches, koleen steels, 5 forward, 5 direct, 3 intermediate, 5 low reverse, wide bushing on direct drum, late 4l60E low/reverse sprag(the wide one), tighten all the clutch pack clearances, dual feed the direct drum (plug hole in case and leave out center seal on direct drum and leave out center ring on pump), hardened 2nd gear sprag race,
large cooler and good lines
