Well this one will be short and sweet, Im not spending 30min typing this up again. This is my 85 s10 I got off of one of my friends for $600. Ive had it for two years now, only able to work on it while Im on leave since its located in MI. Feel free to ask any questions if you have them. Now on to the pics.

First day home and resulting days work.

I'll keep updated as much as I can. Progress will be slow due to deployments and vehicle access. I'll be around a lot for engine and suspension advice. Hopefully all goes well and I have her on the road soon.

My wife is 180 deg. out!.. lol
She would kill me if I ever sold my 1967 Chevelle..
I don't think she understands the S10's as much but she knows.. That's what I love..
Hate to say it guys.. But, I love my wife.. She understands me.. And I know I'm lucky!
She hates to see me spend money.. I think they all do..
I think she takes pride in knowing I am happy.
Wish there were more women out there like that but, There simply not!
So, Stay the hell away from mine!! :)

I had one like that Mike, lost her though. Still kick myself at times but I was looking for someone going somewhere at the time. She wasnt, would have been a perfect house wife though. Im happy with my final choice, wouldnt trade mine for the world.

Ok guys, the long awaited pics. Got the trans cooler hooked up and mounted, tore apart two ugly starters with no luck of either working well and the wiring gremlins came out to play. Im either going for a full painless kit now or hunt down butchered dash, headlight and engine harness. Pardon the pics, all I had was my cell.

The other starter was worse, and this one was suppose to be rebuilt along with the solenoid replaced.

Well Im at a loss, first she dosent want to idle right and I had to keep it at 1500-2k to keep her running. Swapped carbs to a known working one, wouldnt start. Check timing, way off. Reset timing, no fuel. Change fuel pumps, no start. Bypass the fuel cell and the carb floods. Im lost, frustrated and loosing hope. Any help????????

Well another trip is over, she ran for a bit but electrical gremlins came out to play and killed her before the first trip out. Missed the cruise with her, was so close yet so far away. Heres how I left her.

Wow its been a bit since I updated this. Well I havent really gotten any work done, just collecting parts. In the last bit Ive picked up a couple camshafts, -8 line and fittings, an entire wiring harness, fuel filter, switch box, over flow bottle and a few odds and ends all from people on this site :21: (I like supporting my local community lol). Anyways, welcome the new addition to the parts list.

Im not worried about hardware Mike. After years of parting out cars, trucks, mowers, and other crap I have accumulated a vast hardware supply in the basement. If I dont have it, its probably jap stuff anyways lol.

Well a little research, ingenuity, and skills and I have my RPM switch for the 7al2. Also it has more adjust ability than any MSD unit out there.

Heres the MSD site, most of these Ive seen sell for around $65 and range from 3.5k to 11.2k rpm depending on the box. http://www.msdignition.com/Products/RPM/Timing_Controls/Modules/8672_-_Selector_Switch,_6_0K-8_2K.aspx

Heres mine.
http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/8163/img0582xo.jpg

Yes its not as pretty, but i have a lot more options in a smaller package. Plus the money saved can go somewhere else. This potentiometer gives me adjust ability from 0-11k rpm in 1rpm increments. The only thing I need to set it to where I want it is a multimeter (could easily make a rough bracket too). Anyways, down to the price breakdown.

remember MSD unit retail= $65

10kohm potentiometer= $3.50 (radio shack part # 2711715)
left over wire= free
Time= 15min

I think the money savings and the wide range and fine tuning options make up for the look.
