(I started this thread on s10v8.com, my pc doesn't like the site for some reason so ill do it here. This site seems cooler anyhow :)

Well let me start out by saying that a V8 in an S10 is absolutely beautiful! I have been apart of the V8 Rx7 community for years and its sad to say but my car bit the dust after a bad wreck last year so it time to move on to bigger and better things.

I have a 1995 Ext Cab S-10 4.3 w/100k thats going under the knife. I planning on using a 5.3 or 5.7 or 6.0 as the block and putting the MSD Carb kit on it.

This week I'm rebuilding the entire front suspension and replacing every bushing front to back with Energy Suspension.

I have a set of Crager Soft 8 wheels on order. 15x7 front's and 15x10 rear's with BFGoodrich G-Force Drag Radials! 205/50/15 front and 275/50/15 rear.

So thats it for now I will be updating as things happen, Wish me Luck!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Got my wheels and tires in today! It took 3 different FedEx Trucks, weird.

Pros and Cons of the Crager Soft 8 wheels...
Pro: Super Strong!
Con: Heavy

Welcome and good luck with the build. You're right, this site is cooler. Lots of good people here, and tons of knowledge.

Thank you!

Poly Bushings kit came in so tomorrow its time to get dirty. Ive also got the whole front end kit as well. I went with just OEM for now. PICS will follow.

I also replaced my rear studs tonight took all of about 5 mins lol I went OEM with these as well, no need for ARP just yet. Heres a couple pics of the stud change.

---------------------------------------------------

I used an old nut to hit the studs out. Works great

New studs pulled threw and seated. Looks purrdy

And all it took was some lube a hammer and a flat head.

Can I suggest you to stay fuel injection with your ls motor? That way you get the benefits of fuel mileage, power, and all gauges and electronics working. Makes the swap easier Tim. With carb seeming cheaper for your application it probably wont be that way in the long run. Just my personal experience. Good luck on the build

Looks like another good build in the works.

What tranny are you looking to go with behind the LS motor? Manual or Auto? I believe the gauges should not be too much of an issue on the 95 model since they are analog and read from the sensors not the computer. The speedometer is also not controlled through the computer either as is the case with the 98+ models.

If you stay fuel injection you would need the wiring harness and pcm from the donor motor and install the power feed wire and a few relays to make it work like stock. I modified the truck harness to run with my stock pcm and married it to my underhood fuse block. All my gauges worked but mine is an 2001. There is a thread on here of the latest swap.

If you have any questions feel free to ask. A few of us have done these swaps on here so there is plenty of help for you. good luck and post lots of pictures.

I've got a t400 that I'm using and the 3600 pro stall. Gas mileage isn't a problem "not the daily driver" I've done the whole ls fuel injection on the Rx7 and decided to go carburated with the dime.

Updates!

Got to work on the front end last weekend and let tell you the lower control arm bushings SUCK! The uppers were a breeze the lowers a nightmare!

I decided to get rid of the lowering springs and went back to stock but with 2.5in drop spindles. Figured it work out better once that big o iron block get's in there.

Spindles should be in tomorrow along with the springs. Once all this is done its time to find a engine!

Well I got all the bushings replaced and new coils and spindles on.

Bad news; I lost my phone at the dam strip club! So all my pictures are gone.
