I guess by now you've seen some of the weird stuff I've been doing. I posted pics of the 4.10 disc brake posi I put in my truck, the fat sway bar, 3 " exhaust, the Mini Mouse 3.4 V6 etc. Here are more pics of the intake that I am installing. It's a 2 piece Edelbrock that is set up for a 4 barrel or super charger. Attached are pics of the intake, I will take pics of the super charger today. I got the super charger on Ebay, it's a 3.8 V6 factory unit that has been heavily modified to fit the bottom half of the Edelbrock intake. I don't know who, but the back of the SC was cut off and a sheet metal intake was welded on for a Holley 4 barrel. The base of the SC was also modified to fit the bottom half of the manifold. Very nice work. I was going to run the Weber set up, but this will definately make more power. I plan on running a 75 shot which will make this scream. I have no idea what kind of power this will make, a buddy of mine has a floor dyno so I guess I'll find out.
Under the "You never know what you'll find in a junk yard" check out this custom made 4 row radiator for $44. It was in an s Blazer and was almost new.
I guess I'm trying to do something way different. I've never heard of anyone making one of these little squirt engines go. I'm trying to keep this from guzzling gas and also have it go good on the street. Maybe surprise a few duds with biggger engines. :hat: More pics coming.

Here's some pics of the super charger. This is some pretty custom machine work and welding... I am sure I will have to get a new hood or no hood or cut the poo out of my current hood. Boo. I was hoping it was going to be secret squirrel. Sort of hard to be a sleeper when you have a big humk of aluminum sticking out of your hood. :laughoutloud:
Check out the blow off valve. :huh2:

Thanks guys. I hope this turns out like I think it will. You never know how stuff will turn out. This could go boom in three runs, or it'll do 12s. Ha.:nono: 13s? uh huh.
I need fast gas...

you know, I saw your title of somthing different and thought "I have an ls prject, there are small block and big block projects on here, I have seen turbo 4.3's,4 cyl, and 2.8s, procharged 4.3s and a 4 cyl with a powerdyne on it."
then I opened it and realized it was really was something different. this is PIMP! cant wait to see more!!

Ok, changing direction a little here. I found out that I need a hip replacement:veryangry: I haven't been able to walk for a while. I'm on crutches, but I can stand around an engine stand and assemble stuff:drummer:.
Anyway, I am building a Grand National 231 V6 for my dime. All engine (so far) .060 over, 10:1 pistons, 284 / 290 advertized duration, 492 / 510 lift, custom ported GN heads, Edelbrock / 600 CFM holley, total MSD ignition, balanced, Fluidamper balancer, headers, 5 speed. I have a 150 shot, but will see what this bomb will run without it. I saw an '83 Regal run an 11.8 with a similar all engine set up. I'll start posting pics shortly. Anyone else run a Buick in an S10? I know this isn't a super pro or anyhting super competetive, but it will be different (as usual).
Mike, I think I'm going to need one of your custom tranny x members. PM me with a price please.

Well, I was adding up some of the $$ I will have into this engine when Im done. If this thing doesn't go into the 12s, Im going to spray the sh*t out of it and hope it blows. :veryangry:
I figured all of the parts would be almost right on the $ to go 12s all engine. Here's a quick run down - 4.10 rear, 29" tire (not slicks), Diabolical Daggers :bling: , 5 speed, Stage 3 clutch, long tube headers, 3" exhaust (single, this is only 231 CID!), custom ported Grand National heads - bowls, runners and ports - 200 LB springs, retainers, etc, 10 to 1 slugs, custom built stock length rods, Fluidamper, totally balanced reciprocating assembly, baffled oil pan, 284 / 292 advertised duration, 498 / 502 lift cam, 112* separation (bigger than first planned), Edelbrock performer, 455 CFM Holley (from a '65 Rambler 327!!), full MSD ignition (dizzy, wiring, box and limiter) and last - a 150 shot dialed down to 100 HP. The funny gas will be last. I'm going all engine to see what this will do. I hope this will make a whopping 300 ponies at the flywheel. A buddy of mine has a floor dyno, so when this thing is broken in, I'll see what it really has for RWHP.
I was originaly building a weezer 3.4 60* V6, but it just doesn't have enough bag.
OK, sorry to bore you guys, but when I can walk again, I'll be posting pics and get this junker put togther and running the 1320.

Pics of the new clutch, of course I got the wrong disc - the S10 stock 5 speed has a 9 1/8" x 1" x 14 teeth. Reordered the right disc although it is going to be smaller than the pressure plate which is a 10.5" unit. Nice new ceramic long tube headers. Best part about this project, the G body GMs and S10s are almost identical. I'm pretty sure all of this stuff bolts in with the right combination of parts. The frame and block mounts are 83 Grand National.

Looks good. That clutch is what's in my driver. Many of miles and abuse. You will get plenty of use out of it. And the weights actually work well. Mine if the pedal is on the braking point of being engaged/disengaged and you rev the motor you can actually feel the weights and the pressure plate grabs harder.

10:0 to 1 pistons from a 350 Buick - same as the 3.8, Deep oil pan, aluminum and chrome valve covers, MSD billet distributor. This stuff isn't easy to find, and it's $$$.

I really hope I don't have to. There is alot of adjustment space with the tranny x member and motor mounts.
I am trying to make this a street/roadrace/drag truck (touring?). I have tube upper and lower front a arms, lowering srings, 2 piston calipers from a 2000 blazer (bolt on) with 11 inch rotors, 1 1/8" front sway bar, 3/4" rear sway bar, 2" rear lowering blocks, 1999 blazer disc rear with Eaton clutch type posi 4.10 gear, 17"wheels with 245 50 15s. I'm trying to keep the truck as stock looking as possible. It has cold A/C to boot... Maybe it will even get respectable gas mileage.:nono:
BTW, your tube frame rig is the bags. That should be close to the ultimate dime.

wow, how are you going to get 15" tires on a 17" rim? that in itself will be cooler then seeing you putting a 3.8 in a s10.
with that oil pan your going to have to keep the motor very high and very far back. looks similar to the normal fwd pans and i know from experience that it will need to be set way back to clear. further then i think you'll have room for.
i'll working on eventually getting a series 2 3.8 super in one of my trucks. those pans are made the same as those for the most part and the kick down portion of the pan is about half the length of the pan too far forward.

Heh heh... what a concept, 15 inchers on a 17" rim. Alot of tire lube and more stretching. :smile5:
I was looking at the frame of the G body that I pulled the engine out of, they look pretty much the same in the engine compartment area. I got the mounts also, the S10 frame is drilled in alot of places for mounts. If I have to notch the frame, I will, but I' hoping that it won't have to be notched.
I can tell you one thing for sure - a '95 Camaro oil pan will NOT fit an S10. The engine that is currently in my dime is a '95 Camaro 3.4 60* V6. The original 2.8 was pooched, so I put in the 3.4. I then cammed it, a Mallory dual point dizzy, 4 barrel intake and ran stock exhaust with a 3" cat back system. LAst weekend I installed headers, when I pulled the cat, I found it was plugged!! I ran open headers - what a HUGE difference. I bet it knocked a full second off the 1320 time.
Anyway, back to the oil pan. I hope it fits, I am also going to lower the front, tube arms and springs, 2 piston caliper 11" brakes from a 2001 S10 blazer - they bolt right on.
I hope that the pan doesn't stick down too low.
More pics shortly.

yeah my white 94 s10 has a 3.4 mpi in it. its in fitz mode and really pissing me off!! wont idle down right and is acting all retarded and i dont understand why. I'm ready to build and drop in the hybrid motor i've got planned for the truck. i know all about the pan deal. i have a camaro pan on another swap setup (that i'm not letting out of the bag) and knew before i started swapping that motor in that it wouldn't work.
i've got the dual setup on my 94 gmc. works good even with stock drums.
i doubt you'll have troubles with the pan hanging too low.

You swapped in the total engine management out of the Camaro? I know you probably are aware of the vaccuum leaks causing poor idiling, and the O2 sensor making the engine run rich and choppy.
I ran the TB injection that came with my S10, it was way too weak. I changed the intake to an Edelbrock, a 390 CFM Holley , a Mallory dual point dizzy (!!) a lumpy cam and advanced the cam 4*, and last, a set of Headman Hedders with a 3" exhaust. It runs really nice (croaked my gas mileage :veryangry:) but sounds like a super pro with the headers open. No injection problems. All of the stuff came ffrom Ebay, it was cheap. I am pretty sure it needs a bigger carb, which I am going to try a 455 CFM Holley. It pulls really hard in the bottom, but weezes out in the top RPM range. I might need a set of valve springs also.
If you change the injection to carb, you'll have a great running truck with semi decent mileage as long as you run the stock cam, unless you want the callenge of getting the injection to work properly.
Oh, one last point - you will need to change the fuel pump also - as you probably know. TBI runs at about 16 PSI, MPI runs near 60 PSI.
I want to build a 4.3 Olds V6 diesel dime soon... with a 5 speed.

I would recomend this swap to anyone making an s10 faster. my truck stops alot faster with my blazer brakes then my buddies extreme(both are rcsb). and the swap was cheap and easy.

I got both assemlies (L+R) at the local Upull yard for $65 with the old ones as core. It took all of 1 hour to install them on a lift. Definately a positive return and they don't wiegh that much more. I put in kevlar pads ($$) and it really stops. I switched the rear to a disc unit also.
