Here is the hole that was cut, but now dressed up some, for my in coil Dist. I hacked in there to get more timing adjustment for the sb. Now I want this hole to look better and still be there because I plan to use the same dist.

How can I dress this up some, the rectangle type hole by the way?

take your time and straighten out the lines and go around the edges with seam sealer

is there a better tool to use than a side grinder as that is all I have at my immediate disposal

still got to clean up where the distributor went, but I think I got it figured out. Take my flap wheel and clean up the rough edges and then take some of the weatherstripping to dress the edges.
I would just fill the hole in but I am going to need it, especially since I will be sitting the new motor back a little and the old motor hit when I tried to get a little more timing adjustment out of it

You know.. If you dont have a welder available.. you can use JBweld and put a nice piece in there to clean it up..

I would take something round and metal.. beat the rough edges back to the other piece..
then dress it with some all-metal.. (filler)

thanks Mike, that is the type of reply I am used to from you
I will go to the Napa in the morning if they are open and se if they have any of that filler.
It will look good with you guys help. I can build up motors but can not do metal working for diddly squat!:smile5:

there is a 3m product called panel bond. It works great for projects like this. it is the bomb for putting metal together without welding.
