Glad I found this site. Im a 28 yr old, currently working as an US Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic who races when he can. Currently Stationed in VA. Getting out soon and will be back in california to build a 8.90sec 10.5" tire class s10. Already have been communicating with Diabolical on the daggers after the videos of wheel stands. (and everett way to control that beast).

Here is my idea of my build when I start it in May.

1984 S10 Converting int and ext to a 1991 Sonoma for NHRA GT Truck Rules.
motor BBC or LSX Not sure yet
Powerglide or 4l80e
NOS 2 stage or Procharger
10.5 M/T street ETs on weld stars
Currie 9" with disc brakes
Daggers traction bars (cause never seen a s10 hookup like this)
10pt cage
Solid Body Mounts

thats just a start on the list. Been racing since I was 5 yrs old. Everything from dirtbikes, road racing, sprint cars, karts and motorcycles. Always fell back on drag racing cause its so much cleaner and easier to get the car ready.

to finish my title...
Great Site! Finally a true collection of Racers that truly know what they are doing. Been driving s10s since I was 19 and love these things. Been all over the forums for s10s and this one has the best info for drag racers alike. Hopefully we can get some pro touring guys to come over since this is making a break in the market.

thanks guys. Hope I can bring the S-series back on top at the strip. Love muscle cars but a little "street legal" truck scooting down the track at 130mph+ is just intense.

Father retired USAF, Grandfathers retired USMC and USN. Thanks for the time you did Mark. Thinking of going with a USN paint scheme on the S10, and when its done will start on the 1986 blazer in a USAF scheme. otherwise I feel Im going retro paint scheme on it and looking for 70s style with car name on the side.

I too have been milling around the old school look of the 70's drag cars with bass boat sized metalflake lettering on them...I love the older stuff...

You can tell those that have been racing awhile and enjoy that scheme. I tell my friends about it and they dont understand why I would want such a weird scheme on a race car. But man they look great when done.
