AN numbers conversion?

Anybody have the conversion of what they are...I need a -10 and the sump states a 3/8 bung...I think a -8 should work for return what size is that supposed to be..I guess I can reduce it....chime in..

Check with your pump/regulator manufacturer before reducing return size. I dropped a size with a Mallory regulator, and could never get the pressure low enough.

Thanks for the tip.. I have been told a couple of different opinions...and the sump is what Im working on now. Im just looking to find out what size I need on the sump.
