I have ah 95 reg cab 2.2 5 speed dime . i have a complete setup from ah 95 z28 . My first issue was getting it in the hole . i'm using 2.8 v8 conv. mounts and couldn't get to drop in . I read somewhere that i needed to trim the bottom ears off my mounting brackets . I did that then it dropped right in but fu**ked up my freshly coated headman headers . When using swap mounts do u guys use the high or low settings ? Also i couldn't get my stering shaft hooked back up with the headers on. My drive shaft ended up being to long so how much can i safely shorten it ? Also my wiring harness was reworked by jims performance to be a stand-alone setup . What can i do to have my lt1 ecm run the whole truck ?

Never done the swap myself..
Others here have and I am sure they will chime in shortly.

As far as the drive shaft goes..
get it done professionally.. If not you could really tear up a lot of stuff..

I agree with Denny' site on measurements. I have used that in the past. I have an LT1 and using the 2.8 mounts. I have mine in the upper holes which is the low setting. I had the frame notched in 2 places. One was to clear the a/c compressor and the other was to aid the routing of the exhaust on the passenger side.

Being that you have a 95, you 2.2 ecm does not control as much of the cluster as the newer years do. Most can be wired direct to the cluster. Some still need the old ecm to work right. If the truck does not have a DRAC, then the ecm does the speedo cal. This is a formula inside the ecm to have a know gear ratio and tire size to work correctly with the VSS.

My harness was reworked by Jims. He did an ok job. The best part, it works.

There are some things that you need to adapt. The body harness is attached to the box on the side the transmission. It runs the reverse lights, Neutral safety, gear indication and a couple other things.

Your right!! I overlooked that you have a 5 speed. The neutral safety is on the clutch and the reverse lights are from the trans case. If you go back with a NV3500, then you can wire it similar for the 2.2 setup.

Then you will need to wire into that box. It controls the reverse lights and the neutral safety.
