I know S10's and G-bodies interchange alot when it comes to front end suspension parts. has anyone ever installed g-body springs in place of their stock S10 springs? I fugured since the load capacity on the G body springs were less it might lower the front of the truck more instead of using the s10 springs and possibly cause better weight transfer. reason for asking a buddy has 1.5" lowering springs for sell that fit a monte carlo. I was curious if it using them springs would be ok instead of buying s10 lowering springs.

Although lowering springs are ok....
I like to run v6 springs in my bu....
They Store energy very well....
In return gives awesome weight transfer.....:)

will 1" lowering springs from a g body drop the front of the s10 more then a 1" lowering spring from a s10? I know theres a decent amount of diffrence on spring rates on s10 vs g body. being g body has a lower spring rate then a s10 does. Even a v8 g-body has a lower spring rate then a 4cy s10

For drag usage, you really don't want a "lowering spring". You want a taller, smaller wire diameter spring, (with more coils too, if possible). This will lower ride height by compressing more, yet store more energy because it is so compressed. :cool4:

i understand it's not the best for drag racing. but i am willing to sacrifice some to also have a good stance for the truck

Don't worry about the stance, it's adjustable, especially with the type springs I'm talking about, :cool4:
The typical drop springs are TOO stiff, and won't give you enough travel, :nono:

Ive got the 4cyl springs in mine..they work fine...worn out shocks work better too!! Spindles are the way to go to get it right..

i shoulda got the spindels to begin with but instead i got the 3" dropped control arms. now i'm wondering if i messed up. I'll use em and if they hinder my performance i can always sell em and get what i need

I went with some dropped control arms.. Wish I wouldn't have..
I am building me some new ones and just going with a dropped spindle.

why do you wish you didnt go with the dropped control arms mike? I havnt installed em yet. If their to much of a problem i'll sell em and go 2" dropped spindles and coil overs. i'm just trying to learn the pro's and cons.

heck yea thanks! I'll order them and try them with the control arms. If I dont like the stance I can do some minor cutting
