welcome man, rickracer musta told you about this site huh? I hope your carb going to be bigger than that 600 you got on there 400+ cid (even stock) need more than that. I would also go 3" or bigger on the muffs', .580/.610 lift and 13.5 compression its going to want to breath and your choking it. that cam is going to hustle from 4500rpm and up. Hope its drag only.

BTW, move that ignition to a diff location. you want the coil close to the dizzy much as possible to aviod interference. Also someones face/knees will be bashed if the bad should come if you leave all that ign where you have it

Man, Thats coming together nice!
I like it when people get their kids involved too..
Having a 4 speed with a S-10 is bad ass!!
That front end set up is very nice and I really like the core support!
Keep up the progress!
Thats going to be a killer ride when you are done!

i remember when this was being built to win burn out contests... seems like it has become a lil more than that now...

nice job...

Thanks guys, i just wish i had more money to throw at it so i could afford better parts

Ratdime, I did hear about this site from rick, and im glad.. I like it here.... About the carb on the intake, it is a 600 and it belongs to my girlfriend. I just had it sitting on top of the intake instead of sitting on the dirty bench.. I am currently looking for a 830-950 cfm holley carb to use for my combo.. i think that would suite it better and i thought about just running it open headers and selling my exhaust.. but who knows; maybe ill step up to 3" instead. money is tight so i have to work with what i have, you know?. We'll see how the money situation plays out.... Also, I have already moved the coil to under the hood, closer to the dizzy so my coil wire wasnt 8 ft long lol.. I also moved ALL the ignition from the dash as well... Its all going to be under the hood except maybe the 6AL box which may stay in the cab under the dash this time....... Its going to be a Street/strip/burnout machine with very limited street use.. I can get race gas at the local gas station which is 2 miles from my house... They sell anything from pump 87 octane to 5 gallon jugs of 122 octane... Ill be running 112 octane though. It'll be expensive but its sure gonna be funnn..About the cam, yes its pretty radical for a truck that will see the street i know.. Power range is from 4000-8000 rpm LMAO...But it matches my intake and heads..It is what it is, if i find its too much maybe ill drop down to smaller cam in the future. I atleast want to give evrything i have so far a try. Thanks for the comments and suggestions though.

Mike AKA diabolical, Thanks man and the truck actually belongs to that little guy. Thats my son aiden and he was only 3 in them pictures. He is a smart little bugger. He can name off every part inside of a SBC, i mean just about everything too.. i love it..
The core support is pretty nice but i have to figure out a way to mount my headlights now... Bwteen all the fiberglass and aluminum core support and alum. motor mouns ive shaved quite a bit of weight off the front end..... with some good traction im betting i can get it to do a wheelie.. Lol maybe

Wikd, Yes it was being built to compete in burnout contests, thats back when i had the 500HP NX nitrous kit and digital maximzr .... You're right though it has become more than that now.. now its going to be one nasty street truck....

Build it and have fun with it Adam!

Thanks Tim.. Im pretty close to having it done now... Like i said im waiting for my heads to come back from the shop so i can install them on the motor, then in the motor goes.. woo hoo.. Winter is just about here though, and now im starting to dig out the snowmobile's and get them ready..... im gonna rebuild my 600 mod motor in my ZR 440/600 sno-cross sled and my son wants a new ZR 120($1500) this year for his birthday(dec 9th he'll be 5). So money for the truck will be about non existent for the next few months..... I do have a pretty good supply of parts gathered up so i have plenty to keep me busy.... I do have a few extra parts to sell or trade as well to get things i need, so progress wont be stopping by any means... Who knows i may sell my sled for $2200 and buy all kinds off goodies for the truck.

I didnt mean to get off on the wrong foot with you, that thing should husstle pretty good in the upper rpms range. Good luck with the build and keep us posted. What fenders are those (fiberglass). I was considering some but the prices I've seen are tremendous!!! Good move on coil relocation, you really dont want all the interference on the spark travel.....good luck, get us some vids.

Not off on the wrong foot at all Ratdime
Im not sure what brand the fiberglass parts are.. I bought them used from a local guy. I have $175 in the hood fenders and bumper and another $50 in the core support. I bought the rear fiberglass roll pan from unlimited products for like $110 years ago .... I think these fenders are around $200 a piece though. They are nice quality piece's..

Coming together nice. I personally don't like the ignition parts mounted on the dash like that. Looks cluttered like they were just stuck in the first place they would fit. That's just my opinion. It's your truck and you only have to please yourself.

I agree 100%, and thats why I moved everything to under the hood, except the MSD 6AL box... That will go under the dash

Yep thats me. I do still have the Nova, I'll never sell that ol' girl... After knowing the history of that car and seeing how excited my dad was when he hauled it home for me... I cant sell it! I'll end up giving it to my Son, just like i gave him the s10 and just like my dad gave him the 1923 T-Bucket... He is spoiled, but he will be one coool kid come high school........ A smart one too!

I'm looking at making one (some) I just need to do some research on the hood pin and/or latch location and assembly..
Its pretty easy to pull threw aluminum.. I would hate to see a hood smash into a windshield.
