Ummm, yes the top radius of the piston is missing, from 3 O'clock, to 9 O'clock.

That's gotta hurt.

Does it look like anything else got hurt? You plan on pulling the engine down to inspect for any further damage?

Good luck, I hope it isn't too bad.

It's all part of the game.

Have to say I've never seen a piston do that before.

LOL!!!

The crew chief got the other head off tonight. Found were a chunk of ring, went from #2 to #5, and tore up the piston.

This might be a stupid question, but how did it go from #2 cylider to #5 cylinder?

What type heads and compression ration do you run? (If you dont mind me asking)

HEY IT LOOKS LIKE YOU OUT RUN THE MUSTANG..........WITH A TORN UP ENGINE LOL !

It gets pushed into the intake, and travels across.

AFR 220's with 13.5-1 compression.

Thanks Randy, Alot of strange things can happen @ 7000 rpm. Appreciate the info. Hope you get it back going soon. Beautiful truck!

A buddy of mine builds Hondas :nono: and had one with a turbo on his floor dyno tuning the injection. The engine grenaded - snapped an exhaust valve, it backed through the intake, sucked into the turbo and bits of debris went eveywhere else. How the hell does that happen?? This was at about 6500.
You are right about one thing... strange sht happens at 7000.:yikes:
BTW, best time out of one of his cutomer cars is 9.77 at 188. This is out of a 1.8 litre shtbox!! WTF. (no spray)

Thats just funny. That MPH is stupid high for that ET. 135 would be normal. My guess would be that the front wheels make it go.:laughoutloud:

I'm stupid - it was more like 138... I hit the wrong number.
