I'm having trouble on my launches. My truck squats real hard then comes up then sits back down. I'm just looking for some advice or a direction to go to rectify the problem. I attached the link to the video so you can see what it is doing.

I would think you need to stiffen up your rear shocks or put more preload on your traction bar? That's just me, I'm no guru.
Thanks for posting the vid with your question!

I agree, try the 50/50 setting on the CE's...

Hopefully the weather will be nice for the last weekend so I can give it a shot. I've thought about back-halfing it but someone was telling me I can do the same thing with caltracs minus the big tires. How true is that and what would be more beneficial doing? My goal is to run a 10 and my biggest issue will be the suspension

A ten on 275 radials and bars is NOT a problem...save the torch for later and put your money in the motor :D

I have to work the motor this winter, the 355 I'm running is getting a little tired from the abuse.

How much space is between the snubber and the spring eye?

The traction bar comes roughly 8in short of the spring eye. I have the back mount of the traction bar pulled to the back of the mounting pad on the rear end. I'm currently using the universal lakewood bars. The snubber is adjusted to 1/2in from the spring face. I thought about modifying the bar so it would extend to the spring eye. With the right material would it be stable enough to handle the abuse?

thanks for the tip, most of these guys seem to know what they are talking about. Gotta replace a bearing and hubs in the tow truck so I gotta find a budget way to get it to stay down for the next weekend

As stated above try the 50/50 setting on the rear shocks. Also the rubber snubber needs to be as close to dead center under the front leaf sprig bolt. Once all that is taken care of check pinion angle. Should be right at 6 degrees down. If it's not several companies have shims to help. And you need about 1/8" gap between snubber on bar to leaf spring or no gap if at all possible

Like these guys have said, the snubber on the slapper bars REALLY needs to hit the spring eye. I'd recommend a little less pinion angle though, 4° is about right for that type setup. The idea is to be at 0° when launching. :cool4:With your current setup, if it does manage to hit the tire hard enough, it will bend the spring!!:yikes:
This might give you some ideas: http://v8s10.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=13552
It's the setup I built for mine. I've got a Cal-Trac style setup on it now, but haven't run it yet.
