New guy from Iowa

Whats goin on? Name is Joe, 20 years old from Iowa. Got a 1995 s10 with a 5.3/th400/8.8 swap. Also get a rear mounted 70mm masterpower turbo.

Just built the truck as a budget fun toy to beat the crap out of at the track instead of my 95 camaro z28.

Here is the best pic i got of the truck, it was still on the track from the night before when i cracked the radiator and blew out an exhaust manifold gasket. :veryangry:

Its a 95, 42,000 miles, i did a cam swap, 226/234 Advanced Inductions cam, long tubes, stall, the basic bolts on preety much. Still need to swap the gear from a 2.73 thats in it to a 3.90 or 3.73. Just a fun little street car that gets looks with the cam and loud exhaust.

Here is a basic list of whats all done to the s10-
Engine-
stock bottom end 5.3 ~90k miles
stock heads, have never been off
zo6 cam
918 springs
98 ls1 intake/tb

Tranny-
Built th400
3800 stall (might go with lower rpm later, bought before the turbo plans)

Rear end-
Explorer 8.8 with a 3.55 gear for now, gonna get something around a 3.08 this winter.

Fuel-
Sumped fuel cell
Bosch 044 pump
Earls pre/post filters
-8 feed, -6 return
FAST fuel rails
60lb injectors
Aeromotive FPR

Turbo setup-
Masterpower T70 .96ar
Turbosmart 38mm wastegate
Turbosmart 50mm BOV

Ran the truck one time so far and ended up crackin my radiator and blew en exhaust manifold gasket just after half track lol, ran a 7.0@ 98mph in the 1/8th and 11.70@100mph in the 1/4. 1.7 60ft, there is alot left in the 60's though, i left the line with no boost and hardly foot braked it, launched realllllly soft.

Welllllllll after i did the cam swap i never put gears in it still rockin the 2.73 gear :veryangry: and never got in a full tune session so the best ive mustered out of it is a 13.7 after the cam swap lol, the car went 13.0 before the swap. :uhoh2: So needless to say i got pissed at the car and thats what sparked the idea to build the s10. Someday i'll go back and finish the camaro lol. maybe this winter but i doubt it lol. There is a guy on ls1tech that went 12's with a horrible 60ft. The car went 1.7 60fts with just a stall and slicks on the 2.73s and stock motor before so i would imagine it will cut low 1.7s or high 1.6's and hopefully go mid 12s which i will be happy with for my street cruiser lol.

Non AI headed since they are a bunch of d*cks and overpriced IMO. :) But I won't go there too much. I'm trying to control my blood pressure. ;)

Im trying to sell the s10 right now. Just want to start with something different chassis wise before i dump a ton of money into a chassis.

I dont even remember what the camaro did the in 1/8th its been over a year since i ran it lol. You had problems with AI? I didnt have any but all i ordered was their cam kit and didnt really do any follow up with them. I would like to do a 383 and put some AI 200cc heads on it in a few years as the bottom end needs re-built right now anyways, my oil pressure is terrible right now lol.

It should be back together but i doubt ill still own it, supposed to be sold to a local kid here soon. Plans are to build a big turbo 6.0 mustang over the winter :)
