I am doing a build on a '91 S10 short box and am going to change the front caliper/disc/spindle assembly to a '99 blazer 2 piston assembly. Has anyone else done this? The '99 assembly has the 11" dics with 2 piston callipers. I measured it and it looks like a bolt in. I am also going to drop the front 2". I think the shocks will still work, but I've heard that some people change the shocks for shorter units also. I have already changed the rear end to a 2000 blazer disc unit with 4.10 gear and an Eaton clutch style posi. At the time I drop the front, I am also going to drop the rear with 2" blocks and add a set of Diabolical Daggers. The damn truck has spring wind up pretty bad. I can't launch it, so it gets poor 60' times. I'm afraid I'm going to grenade something, so I have to bog it off the line. I think I mentioned that this is a 3.4 60* with a 5 speed. I have just bought a set of Porsche 911 carbs and have a GM factory experimental manifold that accepts the three 2 barrel carbs. I have to take pics of this crap and post. It's pretty exotic looking. I'll also post pics of the rear and front brake changes.
I'm going to do the usual engine mods - cam, headers etc. Sad part is, it probably won't be that fast and I'll end up putting a small block. How about a late Ecotech 2.2 with a supercharger? (Out of a Cavalier) There is one of these at the track running mid 12s on spray with a tune and big exhaust. :surprised:
