We I was running good this weekend after replacing a piston and a fuel pump, the blazer was really looking good . then the carnage happened!!!! I was on the line reved up on the 2 step @ 3800, released the t-brake, front end came up about a foot and a half nice and even, and then BOOM! Sounded like a shotgun going off next to me.

Stock 3rd member?
With that much power and tq, go ahead and buy a aftermarket member with dayton (big) pinion support...
Worth the money...

DANG!! You had that baby hookin good. I busted the transmission off the motor & twisted the drive shaft in to with this little .060 over flat top motor one time. I had it in a '78 Malibu. I'm running the same motor, no changes except oil, WIX filter & a little bigger Holley in my '85 S10 now. My transmission buddy built me a new th350 with an older caseing. Thanks for the pictures & good luck!

hot damn man, looks like your rear end is the one who started it all!!! i thought it would have been the aluminum driveshaft but from the looks of it it held up pretty good! tranny had to been blown from the lockup on the diff LOL make sure u check ur muffler (if u have or had one) and ur gas tank :)

If that was a stock (non-nodular), case, the first failure was the rear pinion support. It then led to what you have now.
