Hey guys , lets say you were building a ford 9" for a 1200(ish)HP turbo ls engine.... What parts do you think are necessary for the rear to hold up?

No, i do not have a 1200hp turbo LS engine but i am having to build a new one for my truck and i am trying to figure out do i wanna go all the way and build it up now or do i want to make a compromise for now...

Humor me... so i can make a decision

if you want strong,go fab 9 type housing and stuff it with a ford 9.5'' ring and pinion.the housing with back brace and bearing ends and the gear set will set you back about $1,100

and yes,a 9.5'' gear will bolt up to a 9'' spool

Back brace good carrier and yoke. And good gears set up correctly. As for splines well I'm still running 31 spline axles.

Well as of now i have 33 spline moser axles, moser spool and a War case with street 5.43 gears in it..

For this engine (650+hp) i was thinking of changing to a s-series Strange nodular iron unit and pro gearset but that wont probably hold up to the next engine

for housing i just have a hd 9" with back brace

No, i think you used an actual stainless kitchen sink in the design so you could officially say that u threw everything including the kitchen sink into that mofo!

Seriously though im not joking when i say that is one beefy looking rear end!

I got mine from Randy's Ring and Pinion thought it was a fair price. And best of all no problems with it.
