Pre planning March 25th 2011 S10 Supernationals

We need to do some pre-planning!

Most tracks want around 3000 to 3500 for the track..
We should start working on a head count and a location..

I would rather we pay for the event and keep all the entrance fees (Spectators and Racers)
We would pay the winnings and trophy's..
Maybe we can work something out with the track owner were he keeps the
concessions and cuts us a break?

Either way.. We need to get something started..

Not that orangeburg track. Look at www.bowmandragway.com Off of berrywood road. The "orangeburg" track you posted is mainly friendly to promods. They suck as far customer and racer friendly

The owner of BOWMAN used to work the concessions for many years at the Orangeburg track. Some things happened there with that. Well the man who started bowman (where the track is at) used to rent some land there out to farmers to grow crop on. But for some reason he wasn't renting alot out (not expensive either). His heart is in racing (never raced and doesn't plan on it...but his son Dewayne *RIP* did) so he talked it over with his wife and they decided to use the property for the track.

He had contractors come in and build it. Now, the return road isn't the greatest (he is working on that) because the road crew was suppose to pave the entire thing. Well they took the money and put it in there pockets and they did some crap work to it. The owner is a very trusting and friendly guy. Very stand up character In my opinion. The track isn't but maybe 3 or 4 years old and with alot of word of mouth and events and a local message board that me , 01xtremelt1 and bigdaddydupree are on has brought alot of people to that track.

I enjoy that track. It has to be one of my favorite 1/8th milers around.

The reason we know the history of that track is because we broke one night and the owner and our friend Ronald stayed there with us until we got a trailer there to get us back to the house. I try to go there as much as I can. I am trying to get Ronald to join this site and have him help us out with this thing.

Unless there is another place in mind?

Unfortunately, We didnt get a 1/4 of the people to show who said they would.
It really didnt matter, It was a total blast and everyone involved had a awesome time.
Before it was even over we were planning on the next one.

As soon as we got back, I got every excuse in the world why people couldnt make it.
Stating how they will make the next one for sure..
If we get 25% of the people who say they will be there..
We could be looking at 30 trucks..

Put me down as a very good maybe. When do I need to have a final commitment & is there anything I can do to help?

Kid has a little open aluminum one...hmmmm... I was even thinkin about flyin down and just helpin out. Id just like to be there. Id really like to meet you all.

That sucked. I was up at 6am that morning. Had to work ALL DAY (in construction none less) and than I was up the entire way there. We checked in, I took a power nap and was up at 6am for breakfast , smoke and checking out everyones vehicles the next morning.

Ronald is going to try and work on getting a host hotel lined up. The one we discussed last night is only about 3 miles or so from the track. Right by the interstate and has plenty of parking to accomodate truck and trailers. BTW, Ronald did say that camping on site is allowed.

What is the closest major airport to the track? Anyone live near one, or going by one that I could catch a ride with? I thought about maybe flying in on Thursday afternoon, and flying back out either Sunday or Monday.

What is the closest major airport to the track? Anyone live near one, or going by one that I could catch a ride with? I thought about maybe flying in on Thursday afternoon, and flying back out either Sunday or Monday.

Charleston sc is right by me. Which is 45 minutes from the track. We are also getting southwestern so the flight should be cheaper.

We went to the last one and it was more than that. And we drove AFTER work , through the rain storm trailering. Boy was that fun getting there at 4 am and waking up at 630 am when my alarm clock went off on my phone

I haven't read the complete thread. If we can get a good estimate on the numbers of people needing rooms I will stop in the hotels in the area and try to negotiate a discounted rate for us. I won't be able to promise anything. But I will sure try like hell for everyone. Maybe get a promotion code so all you have to do is mention the number and "pow" discount.. Every little bit helps!

Sounds like a great Idea. I want to talk to the hotel managers with plenty of ammo to get us a discount. I know we are able to get discounts when my family got together for reunions. This event is a family reunion of sorts. We're all family here. :)

hey i know when me and a few friends rent out a local track by me for the day , the track doesnt tech our vehicles. so now my question is this track going to tech our trucks. only reason im asking and it not a major deal but my 5 point harness is going to expire over the winter. i know i can send back to get re-certed but that comes with finding the receipt 1st. if i dont find the receipt they charge me for basically purchasing new belts. shitty part is the truck sat up in the garage for a yr with no motor and now my belts are going to expire..lol go figure.

Donald (The Duck, The Mayor, what ever you want to call him) runs/promotes the ORTC (Outlaw Radial Tire Championship) races all over the south...GREAT GUY to hook up with..Knows promoting inside and out! Puts on great races! And Amanda is easy on the eyes!

Then if I get to bring my street truck it will be in 7.50 and footbrake...

Is this track set in stone yet or have you considered "The House of Hook"? Tons of S10's there already so it could help boost head count. It is one of the best Outlaw 10.5 tracks out there. When you mention "The House of Hook" people listen around these parts. Just a thought. Everett can tell you also that "The House of Hook" is an awesome track.
