Went to the track today and met Jason (jb3bergs) today for the first time. Nice guy, and a beautiful truck. I really wish more of you guys lived closer than 12+ hours away.

I'll let him post up about his day at the track. Mine is posted under my project thread.

Where is the March meet going to be at... Florida somewhere? Just the cost of fuel to get there and back might break me.

Sounds good to me. The closer to Minnesota the better... for me anyway. :stirpot:

Jeff it was really nice to meet you its nice to see a few others out at the track with s10s. I didn't get a chance to look at your truck but from the pics I had seen in your project thread it looks like a sharp rig. Hopefully I'll see you at a few of the other local tracks, Cedar Falls next weekend. As for my day at the track it at first was a disappointment, but after thinking about it, it wasn't too bad. Nothing broke and no one hurt, just frustrated. The best I got my rig to go was 6.88@109.96 with a 1.81 60' pedaling. I think I changed way too much at once and now have to figure it out. New rear suspension and a kit finally. Couldn't get suspension to work to save my life (split monos, caltracs, rancho shocks, and a 295/65/15 drag radial) no trans brake yet just foot braking. Did get nitrous figured out but couldn't stick it we had a really light tune in and couldn't get it down. The frustrating thing is the truck went 6.81@102.8 with a 1.50 60' earlier this year on motor with the old suspension (slide a links, stock springs, C E 3 way shocks,295/55/15 drag radial). I am open to any suggestions or recommendations on the suspension, I ll just have to keep after it. I ll get the 9 sec slip yet this year!!!

Jason, what did you have the Rancho's set at? Calvert told me to start at 5 on each side for a baseline. Try calling Calvert and talk to Travis. He can give you some idea's on setting your truck up. It looked like your front suspension is set pretty loose (good), as the front extended and seemed to stay up for most of the track. I debated going with drag radials myself, but heard stories of them being harder to get to hook on marginal tracks? I went with slicks to try and take one possible problem out of the equation.

Good luck next weekend. I have to work. :veryangry:

I am gonna give them a call tomorrow and see what they have for advice. I tried the shocks at 5 initially with the tires at 16.5 psi and by the end of the day ended up going both ways on the shocks and lowering tire pressure down to 14psi still no hook or any tire chatter just spinning hard right away.

The track was not in the best of conditions yesterday from what I saw. You may have better luck next weekend in Iowa. Travis should be able to hook you up.
