Here is what the New S10 Cross Member Design will look like!
I will post the Blazer ones in another thread later this week.
I will be adding the drive shaft loop adapter in a couple of weeks!
These are made with 1-1/4 x.120 wall, 5/8 Hemi's, All 5/8" grade 8 hardware.
The frame hardware is 3/8" Stainless Steel
There is a lot of room to move forward and backward.
Plus, you can move the heavy wall bushing to the front or back as well!
http://www.s10racer.com/board/picture.php?albumid=278&pictureid=3570
This design puts the bar at the very bottom of the frame rails.. Maximum clearance!
http://www.s10racer.com/board/picture.php?albumid=278&pictureid=3569
This is the passengers side. you can mount it in the factory holes or drill new ones if you want to move around even more.
http://www.s10racer.com/board/picture.php?albumid=278&pictureid=3568
This is the drivers side. On your frame rails you have 3 mounting holes.
You can mount the bracket in the forward position or the aft position.
Lots of room for adjustment! (I'll have to get a better pic)
http://www.s10racer.com/board/picture.php?albumid=278&pictureid=3571
This pad will let you use the single bolt or the two bolt tranny mount.
Plus you have some extra holes to play with.
http://www.s10racer.com/board/picture.php?albumid=278&pictureid=3567
Everything is TIG welded on both sides!

How much does one cost for a 01 2dr Blazer? Pm if you like.

Hey man, some of us run exhaust!!! I think you need an option of another crossbar that is shaped like a flattened out "M" to hug the floor of the truck (like the stock crossmember is on the passenger side) That would give MAXIMUM clearance on everything :D
(just thinking out loud, don't hit me!!!)
Diabolical
05-28-2010, 12:10 PM
James,
I could bend one but does your exhaust run below your frame rails?
I did a 87 Blazer and it didnt.
I am always open to custom reque$t ... lol
You have over 5" of room using this method, Between the top of the bar and the floor board.
With the bars below the exhaust its a very fast install/removal and non intrusive.
With the bars being 1-1/4" thick.. I dont know if you even have that much room between
your exhaust and the floor board? I'll have to check.
In stock form.. The Blazer cross member is straight across.. The S10 has the hump on the pass. side.
(no one is getting hit.. I'm in anger management!)
that is bad ass!!!!!! good job mike

Yeah, I see your point now - I guess it depends on what you take out most often - the exhuast or the trans!!!
You think we can fit a 5" downpipe/exhaust through there??? ;)
I'll probably snag one of these from you soon!
Diabolical

Let me know when James..
I have (3) S10 cross member's left and (1) Blazer cross member.
I am going to post them all up for sale this weekend..
A couple of guys didnt/couldnt pay..
From now on.. I will only do them in batches of 5 and more..
They are too time consuming to do one at a time..
(remember.. we never post prices!)
PM me .. I dont want people singing up just to buy a cross member..
I dont need the money that bad.. I do this for us!

Mike, let me know when you perfect the integral driveshaft loop - I would rather wait until you get that established as it will save a lot of time for me versus drilling/bolting/hacking/welding the universal loop in there that I have in the shop floor now. :)

any idea on fitment with a 6 speed? i'm wanting to redo the cut up one in my 92 before i put it back together. but if i can buy a nice one that works instead id rather go that route. i realize most of you guys run crapmatics for the consistancy of drag racing and from the look of it, it doesnt look to have the rearward offset i would need.
mytmouz
07-08-2010, 10:57 PM
Depends on what you mean by rearward offset. I have mine mounted in my Blazer on a 700r4 slushbox, but I am using the forward mounting position. The xmember has 2 positions to mount the heims, from front to rear, and the mounting pad can flip around by simply removing the bolts in the heims and switching sides...
Grappler
07-08-2010, 11:46 PM
well the t56 is a good bit longer then a 700. most the time its in or behind a stock crossmember. depending on placement. my motor will prob be forward but i may change that.

awesome crossmembers. similar to how mine is but i made mine without adjustment. bad idea, but never thought about a different trans at the time. with a setup like this there really is a ton of room for exhaust.
do those driveshaft loops sit between where the cab and bed is?
Diabolical

The loop is 6" behind the tail shaft per spec.

If you have a request for another turbo 350 let me know. Im wanting the 4L80E with the driveshaft loop(hoping you can also make a shifter mount along with it?)...so I wont need this one..but I wont get rid of this one until I know you are down to make one for the 4L80E. I can ship this one to another customer at the same time you would ship out the new one for me. LMK when you are ready!

You know.. When your around "like minded people" you tend to get along as if you've

These are the guys who I like to deal with. Like everybody we ALL have interests and when we dont talk about what we love its like being in neutral! Just tell them what they wanna hear. Like when the wife asks me about clothes.
"How does this look?"
"Great honey is that what you are gonna buy?"
Three blouses later.....she finally buys one...the look on the girls faces when I go to "help" shop is priceless. I get that look...yes THAT look!! LOL
Dont get me wrong I support her and all that stuff, but I have no tolerance for clothes shopping...I prefer no clothes at all! Dont we all??? :laughoutloud:
