took my truck to a local performance carburetor specialist to see what he could do with my carb to get a few more ponies and to see what it makes. well we put it on the dyno and made a few passes and he tells me, "i'm not going to touch the carb", turns out it was tuned good for my setup alredy(that gave me a fat head). so, he played around with the timming and found out it likes 41 degrees total timming. he also, said that my big ass tires where eating up about 20 hp, oh well, lol. i didnt get any vids sorry, forgot the good camera.

anyway here are the results;

381hp and 332 ft/lbs of torque at the rear wheels w/ a 13.2 air/fuel ratio

Forgot to add:

Seeing that dyno graph makes me understand why I have given up on a Ford Mod-motor. I love that flat 'curve'

i never had anything dynoed before, but i do know that you want a flat curve on the sheet. i was pretty surprised to it on my sheet though :)

Chassis dyno's hate slicks, and big converters.

As an example, I dyno'd mine a few years back, loose 8" converter, and 30 x 10.5 Goodyear slicks, the truck put down 333hp on motor. Left the dyno, and drove straight to the track, the truck ran 10.40's on motor.

The wife's daily driver 2000 TA (it has mods) put down 436hp with a 6 speed, and 17" street tires. I haven't run it with "real tires" at the track, because of the stock rear. But, trust me it won't go 10.40's

Impressive numbers to the ground.And keep in mind what Randy said about loose converter and big tire. Probably alot more than the sheet shows. We got a chassis dyno right across the river from my shop. We have named it "The Dream Crusher!" lol

Just to give you an example Mike. A friend has a Mustang that runs 11.20's all day long. Consistant as hell Runs the # every time. Dynoed at 325hp. 3 pulls in a row. He was crushed! I said, why? I'd carry that sheet around with me, the way people throw numbers around. Everybody I talk to around here sez they're makin 500+ hp. Wonder how they'd like it if you put it in their ass with 325 hp? I'd have fun with that dyno sheet!!! lol Probably wouldn't be hard to get a race, win some $$$$$$$$

Must be a MUSTANG DYNO (that is a brand)

We have a Mustang dyno local that is called the HEARTBREAKER! But when we were the stock lt1 we put the same numbers down on a mustang dyno as the dynojet. But not everyone else does. It also can be manipulated to read whatever.

It IS a Mustang dyno! Heartbreaker, huh? good name. There's a couple engine dyno's around here, and I've used them both. They can really be manipulated with altitude correction, friction factors and who knows what else. A guy that runs one of the engine dynos always says "Figures don't lie, but liars figure!"
