There was a shake in my truck for about 4 years. It was a speed shake, not an rpm shake. It would start at about 80mph. It actually blew apart at the track once.Blew the tranny right off the block, twisted the driveshaft in two like a pretzel, bent the pinyon yoke, gas tank, both mufflers.Thank God for driveshaft loops! So needless to say until I found the shake, I was kinda skeered to run it hard. We replaced everything and nothing worked. One day I was under the truck and I noticed the cab mounts were gettin ragged, but still there. They looked bad, so I ordered new ones.Me and the Kid were putting them in, loosened them all to make sure the bolts weren't going to spin in the cab floor. He was on the drivers side, so I jacked the cab up on the pass side. He said I dont think that's supposed to happen!!! He hadn't loosened the passenger side yet, and the cab was going up!The mount stands on the frame had perfectly round holes rusted in them exactly the size of the rubber body mount! Theres no way you could see it unless you jacked the cab up. So we welded up the stands, put the new body mounts in.It was last winter, 18* flurries, but I couldn't resist. Theres about a 1/2 mi stretch right by my shop, and I had the speedo twisted all the way back around to 45mph, which is probably around 100-110mph. No Shake! Gone! The body was riding on the frame, but we fixed it!I was so happy, I stopped in front of the shop, did a huge heater, and launched it. It bit for a split second, then ringed the tires. POW!!! Right past not one but two rev limiters. I guess the pavement was so cold it cooled the tires off real fast.Presto... Instant boat anchor.

Sweetness!

I have seen that with the body mounts before.. But you would never just check to be checking.
Every one I found, I was taking the body or bed off when it was discovered.

Yeah, we saw that as opportunity knockin!! haha!!We built a 383 w/ forged Wysco crank,Carillo billet rods,Forged pistons, studded 4 bolt, AFR cnc Eliminators.I bought what I thought was the best I could afford. I had very little money in the 358, and it served its purpose gettin the truck down the road for about a year and a half.

Thanks. These are the best parts I ever used, and I was impressed when we miced everything. to my surprise, it was all perfect. It went 11.80 NA. Got some suspension and fuel system work to do before I spray it. I was going to put this drive train in the Blazer, but I'm gonna start over. Maybe turbo??? Dunno. Probably big inch small block. We'll see how fast I wanna spend!lol
