Anybody else ordered custom pistons lately. Friday will be 5 weeks. I'm getting frustrated. 1500 dollars and no pistons. Does anyone know if any of the other piston manufactures take this long to make pistons. And my rings showed up in a week and a half. they were custom and ordered the same day. :fighting15::mad:

Well I got ahead of myself. Put the crank in degreed the cam in and was going to put all the pistons on the rods. Thought I would throw a piston on the scale to make sure the weight was ok. Nope the new pistons are 20 grams heavier than the old pistons. Ok take them to the machine shop. Got to doing the math. 2.81 grams per cc huh. Can't do that so now I have to pull the crak back out and have everything rebalanced. Maybe I will get to hear it some time soon I hope. Watching videos is getting old I need my fix bad!!

Have you thought about a lighter wristpin? I have gotten away with that occasionally...

The wrist pins I run are so expensive I am reusing them. It's cheaper to have it balanced. The pins are 35-40 a piece and the guy that balanced my motor before said he would only charge me 125.

That's cheap enough. I forget at times that a lot of folks don't have easy access to spares...

I wish I had easy access to spares. I would lean on the motor alot harder. I haven't really put a tune on it yet. It's always hade a good safe tune. There's alot left in it I just haven't pushed it. But now when it's together I will feel safer about it. The coating on the pistons and the rings are now suitable for a heavy hit of juice or drugs as I recently heard it on pass time.

Update. I got the rotating assembly balanced. Crank is in the block and cam is degreed in. Oil rings have been checked for gap and installed on pistons. Second rings are file fitted and installed on the pistons. Top rings are a work in progress. Now all I need is head and intake gaskets and the fuel pump rebuilt or replaced. I can't wait to fire it up. There is some circle track racers about 2 blocks from me and I'm tired of hearing there cars. It's time for them to hear mine.:bitchslap:

Heads are ready to go on. Piston to valve clearance is good and the domes clear.
