I put everything toghter and have no leaks i have a overhet at idle engine stays 175-200 except at t-sat housing runs 220-240-thats where my temp probe is now my rad is Brand new 3 row Be cool and have a 16 inch flex cool on front pulling my radiator is HOT now is i drive down the road it cools down to 170-180 i have done a lock check and have no sign of exhaust gas sincce i am rrunning a serpentine belt and a v belt water pump Flow poor in radiator
if there is poor flow at the radiator there is some kind of blockage or the water pump is not putting out right...
the blockage could be the thermostat since the radiator is new...
as far as the fan is it electric or manual... if it is manual is there a fan shroud??? i know they look dumb but in some cases its the cure to a slight over heat...
it sounds like there is not enough air glow when it is sitting... but as you drive it and force air into the radiator it cools much better...

Since you have serpentine and v-belt stuff interchanged, you need to make sure your water pump is turning the right direction. A water pump from a serpentine setup versus the old V-belt turn in opposite directions

got that going in right direction but is it turning fast enough?

I think that if you have anywhere close to stock pully ratios you shouldn't be having a flow problem IF the water pump is in good shape.
The fact that it cools going down the road sure sounds like an airflow problem to me.
You might want to check your timing. If it is low then that will make it run hot. I bumped my supercharged motor from 12 to around 35 at idle with a vacuum advance and it made a MAJOR difference in how hot the engine ran.

Well i want to thank each of you for your input I switched my setup to a V-belt with correct pulley ratio and have corrected my overheating issues i have awesome flow now through radiator and highest temp got at 45 minutes of idle time was 200 degrees with a single fan i added a dual 12" high flow fan set up and brought temp to 180 at 1 hour run time at idle and that is at Florida temps approx 92 degrees oustside air temp with infared temp gauge
