I welded up the crossmember this morning and I need your feedback on my welds. I'm far from being a pro and have not been welding constantly to be good at it yet...
I'm using my new MM211 and I'm still getting used to it compared to my Home Depot Lincoln 135.
I used the Auto Set for 3/16" with .035 wire and a 75/25 mix.
I hate welding up, so my welds on the bottom look pretty crappy...
Let me know what you think of these welds and any input (good or bad) would be greatly appreciated! :cool4:

I had a gust of wind come up and caused this even though I had a welding blanket up trying to help eliminate drafts...

They look fine to me.
In one or two spots it looks almost a little cold (thick) but you could have been moving too fast.
The one porous corner could have been a little dirt or the power surged..
They will hold and look better than most.. you are not a beginner.

Thanks Mike, I do find myself forgetting to focus on the puddle and not where I'm going... so I tend to speed up then slow back down. I just need more practice :)
Any other input or tips from anyone would be appreciated :10:

Thanks Dan! I've never asked anyone how my welds look before. I'll just keep doing what I'm doing and practice, practice, practice :10:

It's around 20 flowing as well. I turned it up to 25 after the wind gust came up. I didn't have any problems after that, but I don't think there was any gusts after that one...

I haven't been able to work on the truck for the last month due to work and helping out my parents...
Hopefully I can start the back half soon and get some more welding experience :10:

Once you start.. Its just like riding a bike..

Its never to hot, try going into a 15 foot tall 50 foot long 6 inch thick chamber through a 2 foot hole with 12 other welders and weld 3 inch tubes at 400 degree preheat for 10 hours ,that gets to hot to weld. lol. welding it the garage is never to hot.:weldin:

Ya, that sounds like something that I wouldn't want to experience. :) I'm working on putting an A/C unit on my garage so I can work when it's 115 outside... :)

Ya, your right Mike :10:
I think working in the office the past 8 years has soften me up a bit...:laughoutloud: When I was out in the field, I had no problem with the heat.
