The disease continues. This is # 3 of my S 10s.
1985 4 x 4, 2.8 weezer V 6, 700 R4, 3.73 posi with disc brakes out of a 2000 Bravada. I'm putting a Cadillac 4.9 in this since the bell bolt pattern is the same. I use it primarily for towing and the 2.8 doesn't cut it. I guess it's not really a drag truck but it goes to the drags :cool4:. I put a holley 390 CFM with an Edlebrock intake, headers and a 3" exhaust. It made some difference, but not worth the cost of parts. I guess a good cam would probably help, but it's not worth it. This engine was made for small FWD cars, not trucks.
It ran and 18.22 at the strip....

Mike is looking for a 2.8? In your response you have 2.6 = typo?
I know of a few good 3.4s which are way better than the 2.8. I have 3 super running 2.8s.
Yeah, I have the terminal S 10 disease. I don't have a pic of my last S 10 here, when I return home, I'll post it. When was the last time you saw a turqoise S 10? I might have the only one. It's a factory paint. My former GF calls it the "Barbie Truck" . Uh huh. :veryangry:

Figures, I was just in Floridation last week. I have (3) 2.8s, all nice running engines and I have access to a few Camaro 3.4s. I suggest the 3.4, they have TONS more bag than a 2.8. They also bolt right in the place of a 2.8, unless you have a carbed one - then you need an electric fuel pump which is no big deal. You're in Miami?
I went to Hollywood FL, got 22 MPG with A/C running and 70 - 75 MPH from Baton Rouge. If I could launch the POS properly, it would turn a high 15 in the 1/4. It just spins the tires through 1st and some of 2nd. LOTS more bag than the old 2.8. :hat:

I don't know how you guys in Floridation do it. The traffic is TOTALLY out of control. I was BUMMING. 10 blocks = 1 week to travel :laughoutloud: AND it's F***ing HOT. I am really glad I put a 3 row radiator and electric fan in my truck. Overall, for a quick throw together and a junkyard engine, the truck was stellar. 22 MPG baby. :4:
