I will have to buy a shifter soon, have always used and liked the b&m pro rachet

dont know how these gate shifters work, are they only one gear at a time or can you go from 1st to nuetral on accident with a gate ?
I see a lot of quarter stick shifters in drag cars so they must be ok
so those that have used them do you like this type or not?
I am using a forward pattern powerglide

I like a B&M Quicksilver, no extra levers to screw with...

The hurst has a neutral safety. That's the big chrome lever. Also the b&m shifter that has the big chrome handle and the little red knob for reverse. Both are basically the same shifter

I use a Hurst Quater stick. With the ball handle. I like it. I have a electric shifter mounted behind it on my homemade bracket...
To answer your question you cant go from 1st to neutral WITHOUT squezzing the handle. If you pull it down into 1st and bump it up it will only go 1 gear. Until you pull the lever. Has reverse lockout also. I easily operate mine and have only one hand.
