View Full Version : Radiator Hold Down

What is everyone using for a radiator hold down? Did you just bend some metal or did you use a set from another vehicle?

I have bolts through the radiator core top, passing through the core support...

That's how mine is. But I'll be moving things a little bit when I get home and put the truck back together. Have to make room for better fans and shroud as well as a vacuum pump.

I made brackets with rubber isolators on them. Has worked great for 4 years.

BTW, the AC condenser is mounted in the front side of the core support, and a HUGE trans cooler is in between. You can see all the pics here: http://s68.photobucket.com/albums/i4/Rickracer/My Truck/360 Engine Swap , :cool4:

I thought I had a pic of the way it was previously mounted but cant find it.

In this pic you can see how the water pump actually touched the fan a little. With it this way, I would have never been able to have a drive mandrel for the vacuum pump.
