how to shorten drive shaft low buck style. measure length, mark were weigth is , grind weld pop off yoke. cut buy hand ...use hose clamp for guide roll shaft as you cut. or band saw , or metal chop saw etc. tap in yoke (sqaure yoke in tube) tap weld then stich weld don't get it to hot. thats the trick. never had problems, the more horses well......

Ok here's another trick if you have a late model ext cab. I got a huge aluminum drive shaft that was exact length out of a 1978 Ford F150 long bed. A buddie had it and said take it and try it for free. Its 69" long and about 5" in diameter and is very light. Just a FYI for a cheap aluminum driveshaft.
