hey guy's I'm getting ready to start on my fuel sys for the nitrous, my budget is getting low so I was thinking of getting 3 Holley reg just the 4.5 to 9 psi ones so it would make my sys. a dead head for a few monthsand I would put some purge fitting on the solenoid fitting
what do u guy's think?
second question should I run -4 or -6 to the nitrous solenoids
and also would like to know Who would anodize these regs :smile5:

Pics of the regs? They say don't deadhead, but I do with no problems. I attribute it to the way I flow mine for that.:fighting15: The bigger the line (I am assuming you are talking about the one from the bottle) and the shorter it is, the harder the hit is. Anything over a 150 shot, I prefer -6 until you are way up there, then bigger...

I meant the fuel side of the sys to run -6 to the fuel reg and I still need to know or figure out how to flow it
so u are saying I should go bigger lines from the bottles also?
Thanks for the info T

I run -10 from the pump to the reg, -8 from reg to fuel 'noid, then -3 from the 'noid to the plate (and fogger). On the nos side, I have -6 from bottle to 'noid, then -3 from 'noid to plate 9-8 to fogger y, then -6 to 'noid. 434 might have a beeter way to flow it since he recently attended the Induction Solutions class, but I flow with the jet I'm goint to use through the plate into a bucket, that way I am setting the fuel flow as accurately as possible, the deadhead doesn't seem to be affected this way, as it is true flow. (I have several plates, so I don't actually have to remove the carb, I flow this way for a lot of the locals). Some may argue, but it works for me...

great info thanks I had a few ideas and this clears it up good so I should flow with the fogger fuel jet and multiply by 8 times for the total flow of the sys. plus the superpower shot plate jet also?

Are you running both thru one regulator?

no they will have seperate regs

Flow each separately, but then check them with both flowing and see if you get a drop in pressure...

you need to pick 1 jet size for flowing usually 73 nitrous jet and stick with it so if changes are needing to be made in your pressures you have a common ground to start on jmo

Also if dead heading is a problem alot of the guys around here plumb a small line on the input side of the fuel solenoid back to the tank and use a jet to adjust the pressure to keep it from dead heading. I am replumbing my fuel side for the nitrous this way right now.

thats a good idea !
thanks I'll check that out:smile5:

dead head is fine on the nitrous side, if anything you need a return on the motor side more.

i dead head my nitrous and return my carb regulator. no issues at all other than guage for nitrous will go well over 15psi but when nitrous is activated it will be rock solid
