Hey guys just found the site and said I had to join. Tell you a little about me. I'm a redneck KY guy 43yrs old and a banker by day. Yeah you heard me banker by day just not your typical banker! LOL I grew up drag racing and builder Corvettes with my dad and brothers. My brother Chris and I now own Turner Bros. Muscle Cars and specialize in 1969 Camaro restoration. We both do it as our night job as a stress reliever. We generally try to build 1 car each a year and then offer them for sale to high end collectors or heck we've been known to maybe keep one around and enjoy a couple months. We currently have 5 69 Camaro's in the shop in different stages of builds and I have 2 69 Camaro's in Charlotte that a buddy is hanging sheet metal for me.
I'm sure your saying why did you build a S10? Well my first S10 started out as a shop truck and next thing I know I was wanting something fast for these damn rice burners, so I built a 355 solid roller motor with extra parts laying around the shop. I got to having fun with it on the street and decided to start taking it to the track to the test & tune and have some fun with some of my buddies. Heck the first time out it went 11.86et and I couldn't believe it. So I thought what the heck lets add some NOS to it. I had a cheater kit at the shop that I had on one of my past projects and I put it on. First time out with 125 shot it went 11.08et and being that close to running 10's I said what the hell. I put 175 jets in it and made a pass and damn thing went 10.73 with a 3.23 gear and factory rear end.
I ended up selling the shop truck cause I was working on it to much and not the cars in the shop. That was about 6 yrs ago and I really wanted another one ever since. So about 2 yrs ago I bought a 1995 ext cab that needed a engine and decided I was going to build a street fighting S10. I've just about got it all done now and just finishing up a few thangs. It has a S&W ladder bar backhalf kit, it was all gutted of the factory wiring interior and added a twin funny car cage. I wanted the truck to look still as factory as possible so the rear cage goes thru the cab into the bed and not the rear window.I then decided to put a new style front end on as well as a extreme front air dam. We then painted he 2009 Chrysler Silver. I added the pro style rear wing to finish it off and painted the chrome front grill and just left the chrome center in the grill. Then we wired the truck with a painless wiring kit. I left the factory dash in it and all gauges and radio. No the gauges dont work and who listens to a radio in a bad ass street fighting beast? I lowered the seats 2" and moved them back cause I'm a big guy 6'4". I then added a pro rear wing.
Then I decided to go with a 406 SBC. I added billet splayed caps, lightweight Scat 4340 crank, Scat rods and JE NOS solid dome 13.6 compression. The solid roller is Isky 260/260 duration 602 lift with 1.5 and I'm using Crowler solid roller lifters. The heads are AFR 227 milled to 60cc and has 2.10int 1.60exh with roller springs that will allow up to 740 lift. These heads were owner by Joe Facciano who owns Joe's Porting Service. He not only polished these on the ports but did the top inside area of the heads as well as the outside of them. I got lucky he was going to BBC and needed to move them. They flow stupid high numbers and have both spreadport and standard exhaust ports. I'm running Harland Sharp 1.65 rockers as well as Jomar girdle. The top is topped off with a HVH Brodix intake thats had extensive mods and has a Pro Fogger plumbed into it. I have a HVH Super Sucker spacer and a stage 3 Barry Grant 950hp carb. The headers are Headman 2" primary fenderwell.
The tranny is a custom built 350 with a Redneck 4500 stall, Pro Brake and countless upgrades and was built by Beckett Racing Transmission. The rear end is a 9" with mosier 33 spline axles, mosier nodular section, mosier pro spool and polished NASCAR 4.70 gear. Brakes on rear are Aerospace and front are stock. The wheels are Weld Alumna Star 15X16 with 31x18.5x15 Mickeys and front are 15X3.5 with Mickey front runners. The truck has hydroboost brakes with a late model round track head mounted power steering. Its taken 2 years to finish of and on and I hope to get it out and to the track before the season ends. I'm glad to have found this site and hope to make a lot of friends!!
