i only use autolites. but your plugs should be 3-4 steps colder on a average. and 10-12 degrees on retard on average. everett is still the man

what heads you running so i can give you the correct number . I would use an NGK 10 for the 300shot gap at 25 let me know what head and ill give you the correct part # . The ngks are more forgiving for nitrous tuning autolight is good but if you nip a strap on an ngk you are ok you nip a strap on a autolight you have got a piston .the straps on a autolight are harder than a preachers pcker

What do you mean nip the straps? As in burning the plug NGK is more forgiving than a autolite NGK will burn the strap before a autolite will

If you mean cutting the strap back some to expose the tip, I haven't seen the 'supposed' benefits of it...

i have used ngk and auto light. one thing ive learned from both is the ngk is kinda like training wheels. the strap will burn off if you get to hot on your tunr and will also show a better timing mark on strap. the auto lights will foul quiker but stay clean longer from what ive seen. they have stronger strap so the piston will burn before the plug will and it will be bad. as far as hotness ive used a -10 and -9 ngk(for example) the -10 alwasy looked rich on 200 shot the -9 will clean it up so you have to find the right coldness of plug to get tune right on. both plugs will run same time and both seem to like same amout of timing

use the NGK plugs. As was stated earlier they burn off easier if things get too hot. If you get it hot enough to burn an autolight it'll most likely take the piston out too.

I've had this happen first hand, the plug did eventually burn through but the piston melted first.

The NGK's act like a fuse so to speak
